A Life Composed
Born in Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain, Waheed Ahmed Hasan Abdulrahman Alkhan is an international composer, orchestral conductor, and designer of large-scale multimedia opening ceremonies. A graduate of the Cairo Conservatory, he has spent decades weaving the pearl-diving songs of the Gulf into the language of the classical orchestra — from stadium-scale national celebrations to symphonic works performed across Europe and the Arab world.

Cairo Conservatory
A Bachelor's in Oboe & Piano and a Master's Degree in Ethnomusicology from the Cairo Conservatory.


Classic Institute of Music
Founds the first proper music institute in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Madar Arts Production Studio
Establishes Bahrain's first 24-track recording studio.


Crown Prince’s Award for Scientific Research
Wins the Crown Prince’s Award for Scientific Research in the social sciences for “Pearl Diving Songs in Bahrain” — still the only specialised analytical study of the Bahraini diving songs.
Grand Opening Ceremonies
Designs and directs large-scale multimedia opening ceremonies across the GCC — from the Asian Football Cup in Abu Dhabi to national celebrations in Bahrain and festivals in Dubai.

Returns to composition with his orchestral album, premiered at the 27th Arab Music Festival in Cairo and performed by orchestras across Europe and the Arab world.
